CMW 2014 has already been incredible, and luckily it’s only day 2! After spending the entire day hanging out with some amazing people at the Marriott Hotel Bar, it was off to a number of shows to take in some super rad bands. The band that really caught my eye: The Cardinals, of Niagara Falls! This incredibly sick band was playing at The Supermarket in Kensington, and for such a young band, they couldn’t have been more comfortable on stage in front of a packed house.

I was absolutely floored by their ridiculously awesome cover of ‘I’ve Just Seen a Face’ by The Beatles. Taking on an ambitious cover can be risky, but these cats nailed it – and their originals were even better. The Cardinals perfectly execute indie rock: heavy enough to offer a beat, but mellow enough to be accessible by anyone. I honestly haven’t been this impressed by a band in a while. You’re definitely going to want to check these guys out, and give their album Farther Than Love a listen!

The Cardinals are playing again this CMW at The Gladstone Saturday May 10th at 9:40pm! I better be seeing you all there!
