The Spoke Club X Penicullus Bellum
An evening at the Spoke club sipping red wine, and snacking on almond truffles is always a great way to enjoy a weekday evening and when you also get a glimpse into the new fall fashions of an up and coming Canadian Label; that is just the cherry on top!
A little while back I was invited to the Spoke Club to preview the Fall/Winter 2011 outerwear collection by Penicullus Bellum. Inspired by Marakesh, movement and the colours of desert sand, this collection of structured coats using leather, cashmere, mongolian, and fur trims definitely had me thinking of what I need to have in my closet to be ready for next Fall. This collection for both men and women ranges between $800-$1300 and can be custom ordered from: www.penicullusbellum.com . I was particularly fond of the men’s double-breasted camel coat, (which is an essential for all men,) and the use of intricate leathers was fascinating to see up close.
The crowd consisted of a range of fashion writers, stylists, and buyers for various stores including Juan-Carlos owner of Magnolia, a small boutique near Avenue and Eglinton. All in all, a great night of mingling, drinks and discussions on fall trends, and what to expect in the coming weeks of LG Toronto Fashion Week. The event was sponsored by Smart Water, Rigal wines, and YYZ magazine just to name a few, and needless to say it was a great chance to drop by the Spoke Club for an evening out.
The Spoke club is a members only dining club, however if you’re interested in joining you can visit: www.thespokeclub.com for membership information. Spoke club truly is a great venue space for many nights of fun to come.
