Last Minute NYE Champagne Recommendation!

Bollinger “Special Cuvée” Brut

I tasted this beauty twice recently and have also received a bottle as gift from the great Matt Lane, and popped the cork the other day.

Pale golden in colour with many – many tiny bubbles twisting endlessly; bouquet of caramel glazed baked apples, boysenberry, lime, lemon balm and wet chalk; full – blown and broad over the palate with a seam of persuasive acidity and really fine – grained mousse; pleasantly savoury and mineral trait give way to a wonderfully long – lasting finish; slick and sexy; and those of you lucky may even be able to scoop up the last few bottles of it for tomorrow eve’s festivities, so run, grab some and thank me later…

(For the macho, try to saber off the top of the bottle, and also, use a proper Burgundy glass, instead of a flute, the aromas and flavours will show much easier and more pronounced). ($74.95)
