Hip & Trendy Rooftop Lounge found at the Thompson Hotel
One of the most spectacular views in the city can be found at The Thompson Rooftop Lounge. The Rooftop lounge has a gorgeous 360 degree view of Toronto’s skyline and Lake Ontario. The patio/lounge has an infinity pool that is a major attraction on a hot summer day.
The beat is energetic and the cocktails fabulous- I recommend the mojitos! The million dollar view will entice you to have a drink and indulge in some of their yummy menu items. The menu is very basic, just like your average hotel bar menu except the cost is rather inexpensive. I assumed it would be pricier but fortunately they have kept it within reason.
The crowd is full of young and trendy professionals. The décor is extremely visually appealing, with a terrace that wraps around the entire lounge. I enjoy the view of the rooftop, I find it therapeutic, be able to look out at the entire city, after all my love for Toronto is unconditional. To me it is always sparkling and shining. No tears allowed – I’m not that soft.
The hotel lobby bar reminds me of the W in New York. It has a comfortable living room setting and makes for a cozy spot to catch up with a friend over a drink. Even better, enjoy a cocktail prior to being seated at one of the two restaurants that are featured at The Thompson Hotel- Wabora and Scarpeta. There is also a 24/7 diner, The Counter, attached to the building for those requiring late night munches as well as a night club, 1812, located downstairs of the hotel lobby bar.
So ladies and gentleman, this is something I strongly recommend you experience all on your own. The décor is modern, posh and very chic; each room has a marble bathroom with oh la la heated floors (I believe this should be mandatory,) of course bathroom amenities, some super soft top of the line linens, floor to ceiling windows, a light system with multimedia work stations, a plasma TV and iHome docking station.

See you on the rooftop!
