#WMCFW Fashion Week Recap – Day 3,4 & 5
Day 3
Christopher Bates
Talk about a showstopper. Christopher Bates ruled the runway with his S/S 2014 collection. As one of my personal favourite Canadian designers, I was impressed by his collection and look forward to seeing it styled by fashion socialites.
Men’s wear is going down an alternative road and we are totally digging it. The contrast between dark greys and pastels creates a very sophisticated look for an everyday businessman or a casual adventurous. The attention to detail is too fabulous –matching bow tie and pocket thread, I’m obsessed. The introductions of camel tones in his spring/summer collection are great additions. The classic loafer looks great with every look! Another trendsetting look that I love are the crème suites, which are evidently very versatile.
Look forward to seeing some great looking men walking down the streets of Toronto strutting their Christopher Bates pieces this upcoming spring and summer.
Klaxon Howl
I had a great time in the studio watching the creative display of Klaxon Howls collection. The models showed the clothes extremely well and flaunted that no matter the age, Klaxon Howl is for any man with a fascination for fashion.
I was intrigued by the ability to create a personalized look with the pieces in his collection; effortlessly any man can create a distinguishable and unique style. Loving the way he played with different patterns along with the structure and tailoring of each piece. As we all know camouflage has been a trend that everyone is obsessing over, Howl incorporated the trend but gave it a refreshing twist. Introducing current trends with a unique spin was a statement that he was trying to make and obviously did it well.
Now head down to Toronto’s very own fashion district and check out the fabulous Klaxon Howl –you will not be disappointed.
Day 4 & 5
Target
So much energy, full of excitement and a cute dog – thank you Target Canada. Who else is happy that we Canadians now have our very own Target? If you are looking for all the current trends and fashion on a budget, head over to your nearest Target.
Target has greats trends for this upcoming holiday season and I know I am excited to pick up some new Merona boots and a Mossimo scarf! I was most impressed by all the great accessories especially the beanies that are staple items for chilly weather. Target is a one-stop shop for everything you will need this holiday season from Christmas décor to a fabulous outfit for news years.
Stay stylish and chic and on a budget! We want to see the gems you find at Target, tweet us a picture @TOCityGossip
Caitlin Power
Obsessing over the abundance of leather and geometric designs, I am excited for Caitlin Powers Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Once again a Canadian designer has created a perfect ready to wear collection for us fashion fanatics.
I am a huge lover of the perfectly tailored hems and bold shoulders. She assembled a great revolution on the already trending high waisted bottoms and crop top look. Such a refreshing and unique collection! Digging the luxurious colours and edgy looks.
What do you think of her collection? We would love to hear @TOCityGossip
Bustle
We headed over to the tropics with Bustles S/S 2014 collection. The collection was bursting with vibrant colours that perfectly complimented the wild prints. All the fashionable men will appreciate Bustle with their new and refreshing looks.
All in attendance saw a perfect balance between subtle greys, black and bold colours. If the husband and wife duo had the goal of introducing wild prints into menswear they definitely deserve a job well done. They are transforming the often frowned upon stereotypical vacation look to stylish and luxurious outfits.
We all know that Bustle is primarily for men, but who says that women can not throw on a great button up or style an oversized blazer into a fabulous outfit. I can definitely envision multiple pieces incorporated into my own personal style.
Great show to end fashion week! What was your favourite show of the week? Leave us a comment.
XO,
Andrea McDonald
