#WMCFW Fashion Week Recap – Day 1&2

Day 1: David Dixon

With inspiration from children tale’s and aspiration for simplicity, David Dixon created a trendsetting S/S 2014 line. His designs have such movement and with a primary use of black and white his fabulous pieces are both lavish and wearable.

Dixon presented multiple garments with a remarkable amount of intricate detail combined with fabulous textiles, including silk and organza. Every piece of art created by Dixon is luxurious. The expressions on the faces of the attendees were filled with amazement from beginning to end. The feather trimming, tailored shoulders and flawless trims –the entire show was a great end to the first day of Fashion Week.

What a fantastic day for Dixon as he was nominated for a Canadian Arts and Fashion Award and than ended the night with an incredible fashion show. Dixon is a true example of Torontonian meets fashion success story.

 

Day 2: Tatsuaki & Melissa Nepton

 

Tatsuaki

Dan Liu drew his inspiration from his Chinese and Japanese heritage and emitted a remarkable Spring/Summer 2014 Ready to Wear Collection. His chic and elegant apparel is extremely unique yet wearable from day to night. His #WMCFW show was definitely a success.

The primary black collection had a perfect contrast with lights and brights. His reoccurring lace trim contributed to making his garments look stylish and chic. Liu presented the perfect combination of colour blocking and patterns. Numerous pieces he sent down the runway will definitely be seen as staple pieces for S/S 2014 including, the colour blocking and floral dresses.

Congratulations to Dan Liu on his great success of Tatsuaki Spring/Summer Ready to Wear Collection 2014.

 

Melissa Nepton

I was amazed by the Melissa Nepton collection; I would undoubtedly wear any piece. The soft crèmes with the contrast of abstract floral… to die for! She amazed all with her breathtaking talent.

Nepton incorporated quilted structured pieces, abstract patterns with simplicity and a fabulous redemption on jersey knits. Each garment complimented another so effortlessly –I certainly would like to snatch a few pieces for my wardrobe. Every females dream right? To have sophisticated and trendy clothing that is wearable and comfortable. Now we have Melissa Nepton to thank for putting together every woman’s dream. The trendsetting shear backing collaborated with unique patterns and unexpected textiles contributed to what makes her collection so intriguing and beautiful.

We look forward to her collection being released for Spring/Summer 2014.
