Rudsak Fall/Winter 2011
Amidst LG fashion week madness here in Toronto last week, I decided that it would only be fitting to attend a few shows that did intirigue me, and of course give me some leather, fur, and rock and roll glamour and I’m there. Rudsak, a Canadian leather brand that specializes in sleek, downtown cool grabs (mostly outerwear) for men and women created by founder Evik Asatoorian was exactly what I needed to see to get inspired to start thinking fall well in advance.
A mixture of crop vests, cap sleeve fur toppers, and puffer coats trimmed in fur were perfect examples of what to wear for next fall, and with accompanying bags, buckle booties, and leggings (of course in leather) this show was proof that Canadians can look totally cool, and chic. A collection that was primarily black, I really obsessed over the minor details of the jackets which are key when investing in fall pieces. Sharp lines, buckles, and shearlings done well, each piece is guaranteed to stand the test of time, and not just be a one season throw away later piece.
My favourites from the show which I expect to see traipsing throughout Toronto come September onward was a cap sleeve rabbit fur coat, a single handle flap bag in black which is a classic for all women, and the various crop vests worn over other layers like sweaters, and leather jackets. Personally I would stray from the puffer coats which in most cases will make girls look a little to MichelinMan, however strongly suggest visiting Rudsaks’ Queen St store to find a sharp leather jacket to hug your curves, or fun gloves to accent a classic wool peacoat.
