Top 10 Under 20
Fashion can sometimes turn into a routine, we often forget how fun it can be, and other times we forget about other loves in our life. These ten wonderful ladies have broken these routines and are educating a generation on their new rules of fashion. here are my top 10 under 20 in the fashion industry.
Cristine Prosperi, age 20, brought fashion front and centre for those who never had an interest in it before. She launched a blog titled Style Prosperity, this blog is helpful to those who don’t have a major interest in fashion because it is simple and accessible; it is a great blog for fashion beginners. Do you know which hit Canadian show she stars on?
Dauphine McKee, age 18. Dauphine was discovered walking down the street in Toronto. Her story is so inspiring because it reminds us that the extraordinary does exist. Her humbleness is something refreshing and shows the public that good does exist within the fashion world.
Elle Fanning, age 16. Her style is something that is rare within the fashion world, rather than getting recognized for shocking outfits; Elle is recognized for the class that she embodies. She is influential because she is a reminder that fashion is about elegance and not what gets the media talking.
Gigi Hadid, age 18. Gigi has appeared in multiple campaigns ranging from Guess to Jeremy Scott. Gigi is so influential because she has multiple things going on in her life, showing us that you can have several interests outside of fashion. She is a relatable person for this reason.
Kendall Jenner has appeared on the covers of Teen Vogue, Seventeen magazine, has become a style ambassador for Seventeen, and was voted a style star. She has a huge influence on teens across the world which is great because she is raising her own generation of fashion lovers. Not to mention, she walked Chanel and Marc Jacobs this past season.
Lauren Riihimaki, age 20. Her blog Desire and Inspire is so important as she is teaching a generation how to express themselves through fashion and the art of DIY’s. She approaches fashion differently; it is no longer about what you can buy, but it’s about how you make it your own. Her channel LaurDiy is taking over the youtube scene.
Lourdes Leon, age 17. Co-creator to the brand Material Girl, Lourdes has really changed the fashion game for preteens! The brand carries items that are killer but appropriate, allowing young girls to develop a love for style that may morph into a life passion.
Madison Schill is a Canadian born model, and host of FashionNationTv. She attends UofT and often discuses her love for books. To hear a successful model discuss education reminds us that no matter your passion education will help you and perhaps further you in life. Madison helps put life into perspective.
Tallulah Willis, age 20. She recently launched a blog called The Clothing Coven. This blog acts as though fashion is a religion, promoting people to “join the coven”. Her approach to fashion adds flare, making it fun, while adding a slice of darkness. This blog is amazing because it forces readers to look at fashion differently.
Tavi Gevinson, age 18; made her debut in the fashion world with her blog: The Style Rookie. She would post her thoughts on fashion, and feature her daily eccentric outfits. It is to her that we owe the concept of “outfit of the day”, and she is the inspiration behind every fashion blog. Since the age of 14 she has been buddies with Karl and sitting front row at Mui Mui in NYC. (TCG Fashion Editor, Andrea McDonald is completely obsessed and inspired by her)
These ten ladies have changed the fashion game; it is every day that they influence us to be different. They each have broken a piece of the structure of fashion, making it easier for everyone to express themselves differently.
About Mackenzie Cammisuli
I’m just a girl who adores fashion. I love to browse online, wander in and out of stores as if I’m in an art gallery and truly get lost in the art of creating clothes.“I bought a Vogue instead of dinner. I felt it fed me more.”(I’m a huge fan of Carrie Bradshaw) Is probably the description of my life, with a dash of sass! Follow me on Instagram @kenziecamxoRelated Posts
