2012 Pinot Noir ‘The Silver Line’, G. Marquis

Niagara – on – the – Lake

“Hand – harvested” states on the label, suggesting that this Pinot was made with extra care and love; red and black cherries and purple flowers on its bouquet, with truffles and judicious wood tones in the background; mid – weight and plush with wonderful freshness and a delicate tannic frame; extremely long – lasting finish; reminiscent of a good Beaune, stylistically speaking; I had it with Korean barbieQ baby back ribs and the marriage was spot on, but this delicious Pinot will also work with rare – roasted duck breast, tuna and beef tartare (and horse tartare, for those more adventurous); and wait, it’s $19.95 @lcbo !! Valentine’s Day is comin’ up…
